Corsair Rescue is a voluntary organisation formed in 2010 and has volunteer members that operate a licenced registered Motorsport Rescue Unit and Stage Safety Unit (SSU) which provides rescue and medical cover for a wide range of events throughout the United Kingdom.
Motorsport units are licensed by Motorsport UK (MSUK), the governing body for motorsport in the UK. MSUK specifies the minimum levels of rescue and medical equipment that licenced Units must carry. MSUK carry out regular inspections to ensure that the highest standards are maintained.
Corsair Rescue carries a selection of specialist equipment including hydraulic powered tools that can cut and spread and battery and 220 Volt reciprocating saws that allow us to free a trapped competitor from their car. This is like the equipment that is carried by the UK Fire and Rescue services. The medical equipment carried is like that carried by an NHS ambulance including monitoring equipment and a defibrillator.
Corsair Rescue operates a Rescue Unit which is a Renault Master ex-frontline NHS Ambulance and a Stage Safety Unit Mitsubishi Shogun 4x4 and both are based in Doncaster. Our volunteer crew members are based throughout the UK.
